TOUGH ELK is a backcountry hunt-inspired workout built to simulate the real effort required in the mountains. Designed to be completed in around an hour, it will test your physical capacity, mental toughness, and grit — just like a hard day deep in elk country.
Every participant who completes the workout earns an entry to win a premier elk hunting experience in Montana’s Bitterroot Mountains with Montana Outwest. This fully outfitted hunt includes expert guides, lodging, meals, and complete game care — everything you need for an unforgettable adventure. What to Expect
- The event is capped at 300 participants.
- 30-person waves — choose your start time
- Depending on your fitness level, the workout should take 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete
- You will need your favorite hunting pack for the workout. MTNTOUGH will supply the weights.
- Exercises include lunges, box step-overs, burpees, Zurcher squats, and a ruck, all performed with the loaded pack to simulate real hunting conditions.
- Wave prizes are drawn at the end of the event, at approximately 12:00 PM. Winners need not be present to win.
- The Montana OutWest hunt drawing will happen on the live stage at Cara’s Park at approximately 5:00 PM on July 18, 2026. Winner must be present to win.
