Can a hunt go any better than this? Six veterans, five from Utah and one from Wyoming, gathered in southwest Wyoming to take part in the Utah Freedom Hunt. When it was over, all six successfully tagged a cow elk.

Sponsored in part by the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the hunt is in its fifth year.

“This is not just an opportunity to take a veteran hunting, but a platform to promote support to our veterans and how much we appreciate their service. These veterans have each sacrificed for our freedom,” said Ron Camp, RMEF Utah regional director. “Utah RMEF is proud to support the Utah Freedom Hunt.”

“After a long career at RMEF, it’s great to be a volunteer again and be able to join the board of the Utah Freedom Hunt. I love helping bring outdoor memories to our brave veterans,” said Bill Christensen, Utah Freedom Hunt board member.

To qualify, participating veterans must be at least 50 percent disabled because of their service.
