A small elk herd grazed above the central Arizona town of Payson when a cow elk stopped and gazed at the American flag for several minutes.
“It was like she was a statue,” said JJ DeCola. “She knew I was standing there, the other elk were feeding all around her, yet there she was her head raised directly up to the flag!”
DeCola quickly called for his wife Jeri to grab her phone and take a photo.
