An SUV struck and killed a pregnant cow elk as it tried to cross a highway near Flagstaff, Arizona.
When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, they found two motorists who took action. The man and woman saw that the elk delivered a calf before it died so they used a blanket and towel to dry it off.
The calf suffered minor trauma but did try to stand on its own.
At last word, the calf is at a wildlife rehab facility where it is drinking formula and is doing well.
