The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation will again help raise funds to benefit the New Mexico elk country by raffling one 2021 elk enhancement license, which allows the winner to hunt on any public land open to elk hunting or on private land with permission.
Revenue from elk enhancement licenses supports restoration projects over large acreages of priority landscapes, thereby helping to positively influence ecosystem processes at large and meaningful scales. Go here to learn more about the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish enhancement hunt program.
New Mexico has many areas with trophy class elk that score 350 to 400. The winning ticket allows the hunter to use any legal sporting weapon, regardless of the date. Additionally, the winner may transfer the tag to another individual.
The deadline to purchase raffle tickets is June 16, 2021, with the drawing to take place the following day. Go here for more information about the elk tag or call (575) 654-5073.
New Mexico is home to 12 RMEF chapters and approximately 5,400 members.
Dating back to 1987, RMEF and its partners completed 434 conservation and hunting heritage outreach projects with a combined value of more than $45.5 million. These projects permanently protected or enhanced another 536,419 acres of habitat and opened or improved public access to 110,110 acres.
