Below is a Facebook post from the Oregon State Police.
Oregon State Police troopers were recently alerted to an in-progress burglary. Upon arrival, the troopers located a suspect, a mature bull elk, on an enclosed front porch helping himself to a box of apples.
The suspect made his way through an unsecured sliding glass door and claimed he was tempted by the fresh box of apples. After devouring the delicious (merely an adjective) apples, the suspect was coaxed off the porch by responding troopers and suffered a short “food coma” on the lawn before fleeing the scene on hoof.
The bull elk remains at large and residents in rural areas are reminded to safely store their fresh apples and never leave them unattended as a temptation for local wildlife
