Elk NetworkOregon Governor "Confident" in Wolf Killing Investigation

General | January 6, 2018

In early November, the Oregon State Police confirmed in an investigation that the Oregon hunter who shot and killed a charging wolf had done so in self-defense. Since that time, multiple pro-wolf organizations have demanded that Oregon Governor Kate Brown re-open the investigation.

Claiming the wolf was shot through the shoulders, and therefore not a “charging” shot, the groups are insisting that it was not in self-defense and that the case be re-opened.

The Capital Press is now reporting that Brown insisted to the groups last month that she is confident in the investigation after consulting with them on their findings. She will not ask the agency to re-open the case.
