Johnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium, the largest, most immersive fish and wildlife attraction in the world, is ‘America’s Best New Attraction’ after voting in a reader’s choice competition hosted by USA Today.
“This recognition is a tribute to hunters, anglers and conservationists everywhere whose significant contributions have been protecting our nation’s fish and wildlife for generations,” said Morris, museum creator and Bass Pro Shops founder.
Larger than the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, the conservation attraction consists of an all-new 1.5-million-gallon Aquarium Adventure showcasing 35,000 live fish, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and birds, and immersive Wildlife Galleries that bring visitors eye-to-eye with the greatest collection of record-setting game animals ever assembled. It includes a section featuring elk and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
The 350,000-square-foot experience celebrates people who hunt, fish, and act as stewards of the land and water. It is located next to Bass Pro Shops National Headquarters in Springfield, Missouri.
