Estes Park, Colorado, sits on the doorstep of Rocky Mountain National Park. It has a population of about 5,800, people that is. Known as ‘Elk Central USA’ to some, it’s also an extremely popular year-round hangout for elk.
It’s calving season and people near the intersection of Virginia Drive and Park Lane recently had the chance to watch a group of cow elk and their calves cross the street. Ironically enough, they pretty much stuck to doing so within the crosswalk.
