Elk NetworkHow To Tune Your Arrow

Gear 101 | September 20, 2018

Randy Newberg explains a simple way to eliminate one more possibility for poor arrow groups and possible problems while hunting. New arrows are almost always perfectly straight. Yet, over the course of practice and shooting, some arrows can develop slight imperfections that will impact arrow flight.

A shot group that has one arrow consistently outside the pattern is often caused by the arrow being bent, cracked, or some other imperfection that has developed over the course of shooting it.

Before changing any part of your bow, sight, or rest, it might save some headache to put that group of arrows in an arrow spinner and see if one of the arrows has a problem. If so, the problem is usually solved without changes to your bow. If the arrows are good, then proceed to other possible causes.
