Elk NetworkHelp Authorities Find Idaho Elk Poacher

General | October 4, 2019

Game wardens in north Idaho need your help finding the person(s) responsible for poaching a bull elk and leaving it to rot.

A landowner near Orofino heard a shot late at night on October 1, 2019, and discovered the wounded animal in a field the following morning. A Clearwater County deputy put the animal down. Conservation officers with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game determined someone illegally shot the elk with a rifle in the spine.

If you have any information, call (208) 827-1488 or the poaching hotline at 1-800-632-5999.
