The Oregon State Police needs your help regarding the poaching and waste of a cow elk in Columbia County near Vernonia, about 40 miles northwest of Portland.

Officials believe someone killed the elk sometime around the morning of Saturday, March 28, 2020, on Weyerhaeuser property off Clear Creek Road near Timber Road.

Workers reported seeing a dark colored pickup with a white canopy driving in the area but it turned around and drove away when workers saw it.

For 2020, Remington partnered with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to increase the visibility of poaching incidents in an effort to reduce poaching nationwide.
