It’s a six-hour flight from Toronto, Ontario, to Kimberley, British Columbia. But it was a short drive once Leyland Cecco arrived in southeastern BC that provided a visual memory he will never forget.
Cecco witnessed a large elk herd crossing the highway. It happened between Kimberley and Cranbrook about three hours south of Banff National Park.
“More and more just kept pouring out of the woods,” Cecco told the Free Press. “There were cars pulling over to watch. I took my iPhone out and I thought, ‘Oh, this is going to be cool.’”
And he has the video to prove it.
