Elk NetworkAsotin – Wildfire Restoration Project

RMEF Films | November 4, 2022

In 2021, the The Lick Creek and Silcott Wildfires raged through more than 50,000 acres of wildlife habitat Asotin County alone, devastating critical habitat for elk, mule deer, bighorn sheep and other wildlife. With funding assistance from RMEF’s $1 million wildfire restoration commitment, an unwavering group of RMEF volunteers, led by 20-plus year volunteer Terri Atkinson and family, set out to restore what the fires had destroyed. Follow along as volunteers lace up their boots and re-establish the demolished guzzlers that provide necessary water for the wildlife in the area.

Special thanks to our partners at Danner. Thanks to their commitment to conservation and supporting volunteers, RMEF is able to tell this story.
