Registration Opens for 2019 Elk Camp & MTN Festival

MISSOULA, Mont.—Registration for the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s Elk Camp & MTN Festival, presented by YETI, opens on February 4, 2019. RMEF’s totally revamped national convention will take place on the slopes and in the shadows of the Wasatch Mountains July 11-14, 2019, in Park City, Utah.

“We cannot wait to gather with our volunteers, members and sponsors as well as sportsmen and women to celebrate elk, elk country and a long list of conservation mission accomplishments from 2018,” said Kyle Weaver, RMEF president and CEO. “And we’re excited to celebrate in a mountain festival atmosphere.”

The MTN Festival is free and open to the public. It will take place at the Canyons Village and immediate surrounding areas at the Park City Mountain Resort. Activities include dozens of hands-on vendor booths and displays featuring the latest high-quality hunting and outdoor gear from industry leaders, live podcasts, various seminars including instruction about wild game preparation, headline entertainment and more at the RMEF MTN Fest Live Stage.

Elk Camp features long-time staples such as Volunteer Awards, nightly banquets, the Friends of the Foundation Breakfast, Habitat Council gatherings and the annual Prayer Breakfast. The Elk Camp After-Party, presented by YETI, will include more celebrations of volunteers and mission accomplishment plus short film premieres and world class musical entertainment.

New to Elk Camp is Spike Camp–Wild Harvest, an opportunity for attendees to take a gondola ride to the Red Pine Lodge to hear from speakers like Shane Mahoney on the philosophies and facts related to the harvest of wild food.

A RMEF membership is required to register for all Elk Camp events.

Bowhunters and archers can ride up Canyons’ ski lifts to test their skills on the Total Archery Challenge course consisting of more than 100 3-D targets.

Additionally, the World Elk Calling Championships will take place July 11-12.

Lodging is available at the Canyons Village Grand Summit Hotel and Sundial Lodge with additional housing and camping opportunities at other nearby locations.

“This will be a RMEF event unlike any we have organized previously and great representation of who we are as an organization,” added Weaver.
