Wyoming residents receiving an e-mail from the University of Wyoming seeking their opinions about advancements in hunting technology are alerted the survey is legitimate and are encouraged to promptly fill out the survey.
The survey is a joint effort between UW and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department to better understand Cowboy State citizens’ feelings and perspectives about the advancements in hunting technology. The survey was emailed to a random sample of about 2,000 Wyoming hunters.
“Hunting technology is rapidly developing,” said Mike Choma, the Game and Fish’s law enforcement supervisor. “We are looking to get a feel for the public’s perspective and their opinions on this technology to help us better inform the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission.”
Some of the technology being surveyed include rifles with tracking systems, trail cameras – both live action and stored photos, crossbow use during special archery seasons, drones and electronic big game calls.
