Who wouldn’t want to be dreaming about chasing elk through New Mexico or making the perfect fly cast in Belize right about now? RMEF’s 2020 spring sweepstakes proved that a lot of people would like to make those visions a reality. The campaign set several new, all-time records for a spring sweepstakes. The sweepstakes prizes totaled up to $89,000 worth of trips, cash and gear, with the grand prize a dream elk hunt in New Mexico for two hunters. Other prizes included a British Columbia moose hunt, $10,000 in cash, a fly fishing trip in Belize, a Yeti cooler collection and more. A total of 120 people won prizes. Winners were randomly drawn in mid-June. Congratulations to the winning members!

Congratulations are also in order to all the members that made the campaign an overall win for RMEF. The spring sweepstakes campaign was a smashing success for elk and elk country, shattering the previous record for a spring sweeps, with an overall 20 percent increase in net dollars over the 2019 campaign. A record 29,657 RMEF members entered by the entry deadline of June 1, 2020. The mailer generated a record in net revenue and a record net from online entries. The segment of the mailer sent out to acquire membership added 1,572 new members to the ranks.

The positive response shows just how dedicated our members are to supporting elk, other wildlife, their habitat and hunting heritage.

“RMEF is extremely fortunate to have a member base that continues to hold RMEF and our mission as a priority in the wake of this pandemic and the unprecedented impacts it has had on our economy, our country and our lives,” says RMEF Vice President of Marketing Steve Decker.
