Elk Network2020 Hunter and Outdoor Christmas Wraps Up

Volunteer News | January 19, 2021

Hunter & Outdoor Christmas just wrapped up, Dec. 3-12, 2020, in Fort Worth, Texas. Things were a bit different this year, with the move of the National Finals Rodeo from Las Vegas to Arlington. HOC combined with Cowboy Christmas in the Fort Worth Convention Center. It was a much smaller show than what it normally is in Las Vegas, but overall

there were good crowds in Texas for most of the show.

The Great Elk Tour was the feature of the RMEF booth, along with membership specials, retail apparel and more than $30,000 in prizes in the Cowboy Country Raffle. RMEF staff and local Texas volunteers worked the booth, signing up new RMEF life members and a good number of new supporting members. On Saturday, December 12, staff conducted the raffle drawing and all the prizes were awarded, including one lucky winner of the grand prize: a Polaris Ranger.

Each day during Cowboy Christmas, RMEF produced the “Cowboy Revival” show, hosted by country music songwriter Shane Minor, who was joined by various up-and-coming country artists and songwriters. The crowds seemed to grow each day, and the show with a mix of Q&A, stories and live music was well-received by fans.

Special thanks to RMEF staff and local Texas volunteers and members for stepping up to support the expo!
