Elk NetworkWoman Overcomes Paralysis Diagnosis, Walks and Hunts Again

Doctors told Katie Walters that she would be paralyzed from the neck down. The Wisconsin police officer and hunter was determined she would walk out of the rehab clinic. She was right!

Only 18 months after a horrific car crash that broke several vertebrae in her back and neck, Walters returned to the woods and harvested a nice deer from a tree stand.

“And I was out there by myself, and it wasn’t until that moment that I felt blessed,” Walters told WBAY-TV. “People tend to take for granted just the little things they do every single day, and it’s not until you can’t, that you really do appreciate things,” said Walters.
