Authorities with the British Columbia Conservation Officer Service captured and killed a wolf it believes is responsible for attacking a man in Port Edward, a small town in northern British Columbia.

A wolf attacked the man as he walked home late at night. Conservation officers interviewed him in the hospital to gather more information. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

There is a recent uptick in wolf-related incidents in the surrounding area including multiple sightings and several attacks on dogs and cats.
