Elk NetworkWatch: Elk Frolic on Oregon Coast Beach

General | February 5, 2020

It may seem like an unusual sight but for people living along the Oregon Coast, it really isn’t. Elk are known to wander along the beach in these parts and even wade into the Pacific Ocean.

A woman recently captured this serene video in Cannon Beach, a small coastal town approximately 80 miles northwest of Portland and 25 miles south of Astoria.

Elk are able to habituate to their surroundings whether in the arid Desert Southwest, the dense rainforests of Washington, the Rocky Mountains, the hills and plains of Kansas or Nebraska, or the woods of Pennsylvania and the Great Smoky Mountains.
