Elk NetworkWashington Seeks to Remove Problem Wolves

General | June 24, 2020

After repeated livestock depredations, the director of the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) reauthorized the lethal removal of problem wolves in the northeast part of the state. WDFW Director Kelly Susewind announced authorities will remove no more than two wolves from the Togo pack in Ferry County.

As of the most recent depredation confirmed by WDFW staff on June 6, 2020, the Togo pack had been involved in seven depredations over a 10-month period. Susewind authorized an August 2019 order in the same territory but crews were unsuccessful.
