Conservation | September 12, 2018

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation teamed up with the Michigan United Conservation Clubs and Huron Pines AmeriCorps to spice up elk country in Michigan’s Pigeon River Country State Forest.

The volunteers removed old fencing, other debris and planted 40 oak trees to benefit elk habitat.

“It’s important to me because I want to have somewhere for our kids, our grandkids and great grandkids to come out, to preserve this for the rest of our lives,” said Larry Bialobrzeski, RMEF volunteer.
