Come Swap Ideas & Advice at 25th Anniversary Elk Camp
By Corky Logan, Division III Regional Chair
Wildlife benefits when we share great ideas for how to raise money to protect elk country.
“Open Forum”—a meeting for volunteers to share ideas and opinions held at the 2008 Elk Camp—was just a taste of things to come for RMEF volunteers. After hearing strong support from volunteers at our inaugural forum, we decided a more in-depth approach was the ticket for our 25th Anniversary Elk Camp in Fort Worth in 2009.
So we’ll be holding four “Volunteer Idea-Sharing Seminars” during the ’09 Elk Camp. Two sessions on different topics will run on Friday from 10:30-11:30 a.m., and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. Presentations by volunteers will cover subjects such as big game banquet mechanics, merchandising and efficiency, volunteer recruitment and retention, state leadership teams and more. There will be time set aside at the end of each presentation for discussion. No need to sign up ahead of time for the sessions. Just come by and participate. Look for specifics on seminar topics and locations in your convention agenda.
These seminars are your chance to hear what works well in various regions of the country from passionate volunteers like yourself. It’s this type of training and sharing that will take the mission of the Elk Foundation to higher and greater levels.
