Young archers seeking to improve their skills, team-building and enjoyment received a shot in the arm from the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. RMEF awarded the Scholastic 3-D Archery Program with a $10,000 grant.

“The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is proud to support the growth of S3DA and its conservation outreach,” said Blake Henning, RMEF chief conservation officer. “S3DA is helping to put and keep archery equipment in the hands of youth while also providing them and their families with beginning-to-end mentored hunt opportunities. This dovetails perfectly with RMEF’s mission focused on hunting heritage and conservation.”

S3DA is so popular that it is growing faster than current organizational infrastructure can support. The RMEF funding will help grow the program nationwide.

S3DA’s mission is to foster, educate and guide youth in the areas of 3-D, indoor target and outdoor target archery as well as safe, ethical bowhunting practices. S3DA does so by providing archery and bowhunting opportunities to youth in after-school settings, as well as with archery-affiliated clubs and businesses in the community. Students participate in 3-D and target archery using compound and traditional archery equipment.
