A man seeking shed antlers in northwest Montana died after getting separated from his adult son during a storm. Authorities say 52-year-old Michael Eugene Wheeler of St. Ignatius passed away southwest of St. Ignatius.
Wheeler’s son sought help after the storm separated them.
Elk and deer shed their antlers during the winter months. Shed hunters seek them for decorative purposes and other reasons.
