Elk NetworkMissouri Offers Elk Driving Tour

General | December 28, 2017

Winter is a great time to see elk in Missouri. Two driving tours are currently set up to assist people view the animals from the comfort of their own vehicles.

“A lot of folks like to come in the fall when the colors are pretty and the elk are bugling and that’s a real good time to come see elk but the wintertime is my favorite time because the leaves are off the trees.
Due to the cooler temperatures, the elk tend to stay out in the fields longer,” David Hasenbeck, elk program manager, told KFVS-TV.

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation provided funding and volunteer manpower to help return elk to their native Missouri range in 2011.
