Elk NetworkFill Two Elk Tags in Michigan?

General | May 4, 2018

Three hunters will have the opportunity to acquire two elk tags in Michigan. Jerry Peak (see photo) did not think in his wildest dreams that it would happen to him, but it did and he took advantage of it.

“I was totally shocked when I found out about drawing a bull elk tag in addition to my Pure Michigan Hunt tag,” Peak said. “I knew right away that I would be transferring my Pure Michigan Hunt tag to my son so we could hunt together.”

The Pure Michigan Hunt gives three lucky winners licenses to hunt elk, bear, spring and fall turkey, and antlerless deer and first pick at a managed waterfowl hunt area. Plus more than $4,000 in blinds, sleds, rifles, shotguns and more go home with the winners each year. Additionally, all licenses are transferable – you can enter yourself and win, or transfer your licenses to a loved one.

Elk and bear applications are on sale now through June 1. That makes it the perfect time to pick up some entries for the Pure Michigan Hunt too. Applications are only $5 each. You can only buy one elk chance and one bear preference point, and the deadline is June 1. There’s no limit to the number of Pure Michigan Hunt applications you can buy through Dec. 31.

As part of the prize package, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation is providing an Eberlestock Team Elk pack.
