Wildlife officials and the Oregon State Police are searching for the person who poached an elk near Eagle Point in southern Oregon.

“Our Fish and Wildlife Troopers responded to that area, where they located a bull elk that was shot and killed and partially harvested, meaning that they tried to harvest the animal but for whatever reason they stopped in the middle of it,” Sergeant Jeff Proulx of the Oregon State Police, told KTVL-TV.

Police say someone saw a dark-colored SUV in the area around 9:15 p.m. on November 16, 2018, at about 9:15 p.m. and want to talk to the person who drove it.
