Elk NetworkEight Colorado Counties Oppose Forced Wolf Introduction Initiative

Conservation | December 16, 2019

The Montezuma County Board of County Commissioners is the latest county to pass a resolution firmly opposing any plans to introduce wolves into Colorado.

Proponents gathered more than 200,000 signatures in an effort to place an initiative on the 2020 Colorado ballot that would forcibly introduce wolves into western Colorado. All eight counties opposing the measure are located in that part of the state.

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation strongly opposes the measure.
